I lied (and goose tales)

Unwelcome visitors. Except, sometimes I enjoy it when they visit. Then I remember that too many geese spoil the pond.

Honesty and transparency make you vulnerable.  Be honest and transparent anyway.

~ Mother Teresa

Note:  There is a story within a story here.  It might be less confusing to follow one or the other.  The images and captions or the text outside of the images.  Then go back and pick up the rest.  Or not.  Maybe it’s just confusing to me.

I am here to ‘fess up.  Yesterday evening, I lied.  I didn’t say anything that was an untruth.  My prevarication wasn’t done in writing.  I lied by intentionally pressing the wrong button.

On this first day of Autumn

Looking out over the meadows on the first day of Autumn

Rains came overnight, but this morning the clouds parted and the sun came out in time to welcome the Spirit of Autumn to the realm of Breezy Acres.  Yellows are rolling across the meadows and reds are starting to color the tips of the maple leaves.  The crows continue to meet in the woods for their Caw Conference, the Blue Jays trying to imitate them. to put a hand on the brow
of the flower,
and retell it in words and in touch,
it is lovely
until it flowers again from within, of self-blessing.

~ Galway Kinnell

Spots of time

Rainy day

There are in our existence spots of time,

A renovating virtue…
That penetrates, enables us to mount,
When high more high, and lifts us up when fallen.

~ William Wordsworth

Let’s walk

Through the archway

Yesterday, in the morning before the rains came, I went for a hike at Quail Hollow State Park.  Photos for today’s post are from that hike.  I hiked 5k, a practice run for tomorrow’s Color Run (which I’ll be walking, as I expect quite a few folks will be doing since it’s not a race but something done for fun).

Thursday Travels: Let’s go to the beach

Point Wolfe. Fundy National Park, New Brunswick, Canada.

If you were here last week, you may recall that I took you as far as the bottom of the stairs on the hike M and I took to Point Wolfe in Fundy National Park.  (If you don’t recall it, or you missed it, you’ll find the link at the bottom of this post).  This is the beach at the Point Wolfe River Estuary.
