Sunday Signage

I want a sign like this for my kitchen.

I want a sign like this for my kitchen.

Angry people are not always wise.

~ Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

When I was young, and quite possibly stupid, I would become passionate in my anger during some of the arguments between M and myself.  Consequently, objects (and implements) were known to suddenly take flight (and no, we did not have a poltergeist living with us).  When I saw this sign while out on our walk yesterday, I laughed and laughed, thinking how fun it would be to have such a sign in my kitchen.  I no longer throw things out of anger, but the occasional implement has been known to go flying out of my klutzy hands when I’m prepping food.

The wonders of winter

December 2012 019a

You probably don’t have to be a long-time visitor to Life in the Bogs to know winter is my favorite season.  I love it, most especially when there is snow.  Snow is necessary for a proper, enjoyable winter.  I’ve lived in places where they have rainy, dreary winters, and that’s no fun at all.  If gray, wet days are what you experience during the winter months, I can understand not loving the season.

Spectral morning

Borderline

Borderline

On the Towpath Trail

In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I’d have a little fun with the photos I took on yesterday’s bike ride.  I started my ride in Akron and ended in Peninsula where I caught the train back to Akron.  It was a good ride.  Almost 14 miles when all was said and done.  I did get a bit chilled out there.  The temperature, close to 70 when I started, dropped about 15 degrees while I was riding.  My fingers and toes were numb when I finished.  It felt good to sit by the heater on the train and thaw out.

Turning point

Change is on the horizon

~ Agnes Repplier

A walk along the Allegheny River

Start

Thank you to everyone who joined in the group walk.  I haven’t had a chance to join you all on your walks yet, having just arrived home a little while ago.  I think everyone who needed a little extra time has managed to get their walks in so it probably won’t be necessary to extend the deadline.  However, if you want to join in and haven’t had a chance to walk or do your blog post about it yet, let me know.  I plan to do the wrap-up either tomorrow or Wednesday and will wait a bit if you need extra time.

Sunday smorgasbord

There is no spoon* (Leaves and reflections on the pond. Edited in Pixlr.)

The wise man does not seek enlightenment, he waits for it.  So while I was waiting, it occurred to me that seeking perplexity might be more fun. . . After all, enlightenment begins where perplexity ends.

~ Terry Pratchett
