January Thaw

(Izzy & Bella.  January 2008)

Nothing much to babble on about today so this will be another short post.

Today’s weather:  Mostly cloudy with an occasional sunny spell.  Unusually warm (in the 60’s).  It’s the January thaw, a few weeks early.

The air feels and smells like spring.  Strong storms are supposed to move through tonight.  We’ll have cooler temperatures behind the storms.  It looks like there will be snow on the ground again by next week.  In the meantime, all of the snow has melted and the pond has completely thawed.

It’s nice to have this little break from winter.  It does, however, put a damper on our plans to learn how to cross-country ski and snowshoe.
