Some of my favorite things

I thought this would be really easy, but that turned out not to be true. I have so many favorite things (and yes, that would include brown paper packages tied up with string…lol!) that I couldn’t make a decision about which four to feature. I’ve cheated a bit by making some collages (with some new photos, but most from the archives) under general categories that have allowed me to include lots of my favorite things. Since Karma specifically said “things,” I have not included people. My family, of course, are tops on any list, but they are not things and that eliminated them automatically. It made it easier for me, too, because none of them (as far as I know) wish to appear on the blog. I don’t know why not. I might make them rich and famous. Okay, maybe not. I don’t have that much blog traffic (another reason for them not to worry about showing their mugs around here).
The collage up above features one of my most favorite of things: The pond and the land here at Breezy Acres, in all seasons and all times of the day. Even when I’m complaining about the weather, I love it here.
The second (these are really in no particular order, but I point out the order so you’ll know which collage I’m going on about) is food and cookery (“cookery” defined as the art and practice of cooking). Tea, my favorite beverage, falls under the food category so I included it in this collage.
Nature is next. I know putting it that way is very broad, but I love nature and being outdoors. In a way, this is a double category of favorite things as I enjoy photographing nature, too, so this collage represents both nature and photography for me.
Last of the four required, but by no means least, traveling is one of my favorite things. Whether M and I are journeying as local tourists or traveling farther from home, I thoroughly enjoy getting out and about and seeing new places. I also enjoy exploring some of the same old places because there are always new discoveries to make. Traveling also encompasses two categories because it frequently involves another of my favorite activities: Exercise. Our travels almost always involve hiking, walking, biking, or swimming.
This last collage is a hodgepodge of a few more of my favorite things, some of them obvious, some of them representations of things such as spending time with family and friends. No post on some of my favorite things would be complete without music. (Go ahead and click. You might enjoy it.)
I was going to steal borrow a few photos from Karma to get those bonus points, but have run out of time on this busy Saturday (when I shouldn’t be posting at all, but wanted to participate in this challenge). I think I can name a few: Photography, summer, cherry tomatoes, and her one week family vacation in Maine. How’d I do, Karma?
Thanks for stopping by for this extra post. Today is the deadline for Karma’s April Photo Hunt, but she’s been known to bend the rules a little if you ask and need a few extra days. I’m off to enjoy some blues at a local Blues Challenge. What are you up to today?

As always, I just love your collages! They are beautiful! Wonderful representations of your favorites. And even though you didn’t have time for the photos, yes, yes, yes and yes to the favorites of mine that you mentioned! I did mention in my post today that as usual, I’m not holding tight to the deadline, so yes, readers of “Life in the Bogs”, feel free to do your own post in the next couple days and drop me a link! 🙂
Thank you, Karma. I’m looking forward to your next photo hunt (June?). It’s always fun. 🙂
Love the collage approach, Robin. I couldn’t narrow it to only 4 either. Happy weekend, my friend.
Hugs,
Kathy
Thank you, Kathy. Hope your weekend is going well. 🙂
great photo collages Robin
first and second are my favourite ones 😉
Thank you, Kel. 🙂
Wow, wow, wow, and wow. A wow for each favorite thing — beautifully and creatively portrayed. what a masterpiece of collages you have created!
Thank you so much, Bo. 🙂
Really nice….though I couldn’t get past the people are my favorite things thing myself…so that’s what I ended up going with. Love your collages! A lot1
Thank you, Dawn. 🙂
As I recently commented to Karma, I would have included people except they don’t want to be on the blog so I used a technicality to get away with not including them. (I did sneak them in anyhow.)
Hi, Robin
I like the collages a lot. Shows that you have a palette, just like painters. And Thich Nhat Hanh–or “the Thichster”, as we call him around my house–is one of my favorites, too.
Thank you, Paul. I never really thought about having a palette. Interesting idea. 🙂
It’s nice that you can have one without knowing it. That’s the best kind. 🙂
OK. Robin, now it is time to “fess up” to using a song theme for your post! LOVE this and the fabulous collages, as well as Sarah Vaughn’s rendition of a “favorite things” song. Though I must confess, if we ever meet in person, I’m sure the first thing I will do is look for your “hang out” socks as featured in your final collage 🙂 Here’s to music and the garden and life in general ~
lol, Lynn! I suspect most people in the world of blogging would recognize my feet long before they would recognize my face (which has made limited appearances here on the blog). As for the song theme, I’m off the hook since Karma suggested it for the photo hunt. 😀
Glad I came back to visit this one because these are outstanding collages!
Thank you, Frank. 🙂
Nice idea to create collages for each of your favorites things you like to photograph. They are each a feast for the eyes and mind.
Thank you, Scott. I just couldn’t figure out any other way to fit in so many things. 🙂
Wonderful collages, Robin. You have alot of favorite things!
Thanks, Tracy. Honestly, just about everything in life is a favorite at one time or another. Well, except for the things that aren’t and never will be (slimy foods, foul odors, etc.). 🙂
I would have had a difficult time narrowing down my favourite things to four single photos, too. I appreciate your collages to squeeze more things in! 😉
Thanks, Dana. 🙂
