Not so clear: An interlude

Nature doesn’t always cooperate when it comes to getting a good photo or two. Nonetheless, here’s a little of the wildlife that’s been making an appearance by the pond. Some are clear shost; some are not.

Kind of like life, eh?

The reason I don’t let the kittens outside:

It’s either a red-tailed or a red-shouldered hawk, I think. It was tough getting a good shot of it. I had to shoot through the dining room window without the hawk seeing me (or he would have flown off before I could snap the picture), and I don’t have a decent telephoto lens (there’s a big hint there for anyone wanting to spoil me with a nice present for my up and coming birthday).

The wild kitties:

And some of the wild humans in their wild hot air balloons that have come by lately:

The hot air balloons came by this past Sunday evening. M was out working on the addition to the barn, and I went to check on him. All was going well with both him and the addition, so I looked out over the pond and much to my delight, saw a hot air balloon rising up over the trees, followed by another, and another, and well, there were about six or seven all together.

I’ll be back later tonight or sometime tomorrow with the continuation of the Harpers Ferry saga.

In the meantime, I want to send out good thoughts to Alto2 who will be appearing on Jeopardy! tonight. She’s got a lot on her plate right now, and I know Jeopardy! is taped, but still and all: Good luck, Alto2.
