Oh dear…

(099:  Will this pig fly?)

Up, up and away!

(096:  Up, up and away!)

A pair of balloons

(094:  Paired up.)

Rising above

(089:  Rising above the pack.)

How posterity will laugh at us, one way or other!  If half a dozen break their necks, and balloonism is exploded, we shall be called fools for having imagined it could be brought to use:  if it should be turned to account, we shall be ridiculed for having doubted.

~ Horace Walpole, letter to Horace Mann, 24 June 1785

I’m trying out scheduled posts but the photo didn’t appear at first.  I had to come in and edit the post to get it to show up.  Anyone have any ideas or advice on how to get it work correctly the first time?

The gathering

(088:  The gathering.)

We were born to unite with our fellow men, and to join in community with the human race.

~ Cicero

Field of vision

(086:  Small.)

Every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world.

~ Arthur Schopenhauer

Speeding things along

(084:  Pretty colors!)

It has occurred to me that as much as I am enjoying the balloons, I shouldn’t drag this out forever.  In the interest of speeding things up, I put a series of images into a slide show.  I like this series because it shows the balloons in various stages, finally making it up into the air.  It loses a little of the quality of the photographs but it spares us all months of looking at hot air balloons.

Enjoy.  🙂
