335: Karma’s August Photo Hunt

A rainbow of colors

Karma’s August Photo Hunt challenge is to show summer in a rainbow of colors, photos representing the prominent colors of the rainbow:  red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.  I have all the colors covered in the one photo above.  Our spinners don’t come out until the summer months, and this one has all the colors of the rainbow included in its design.

My day is filled with family.  I’ll be back soon.

P.S.  I met my outdoor commitment today by going out and doing some clean-up after last night’s storms which were strong enough to knock over a heavy, concrete bird bath.

Hiding in the colorful balls

The Weekly Photo Challenge for this week is Colorful.  I have quite a few colorful photos from our trip to Pittsburgh and Idlewild with our granddaughters and their parents.  While some of these are not the best photos, they do meet my criteria (they are colorful and they don’t show too much, or any, of the girls’ faces).

288: Shenk’s Ferry Wildflower Preserve

Way back in the beginning of May, M and I took a trip out to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  While we were in Pennsylvania, we spent a morning hiking in Lancaster County.  One of the areas where we hiked was Shenk’s Ferry Wildflower Preserve.  The main wildflower trail is approximately one mile long, and an easy hike.  One could probably hike it fairly quickly if one didn’t want to stop, look at, and photograph all the flowers.
