~ Wendell Berry, Farming: a hand book
Somewhere, sometime, I read something that suggested one’s outer environment is a reflection of one’s inner state of being. If there is any truth to that, my inner state of being must have been chaotic, cluttered, disorganized, and in need of a good dusting or scrubbing. My inner being was holding on to “fat clothes,” too. Expansion of the inner being is no problem, but my outer being needs to let go of such things. There is no going back.
Some flowers on a hot day

I still have quite a few orchid photos left from Orchid Mania that I need to sort through, and I started to do just that prior to going off on our Canadian adventures. I found this post tucked away, waiting for me to do something with it.

(I’m not counting the scheduled post because it was scheduled.) I’m going to be doing that from now on unless something so exciting happens that I absolutely must blog about it right away. Most of today’s photos are from Orchid Mania. I’m still sorting through them all.
Arranged

All of the plants and flowers at the Cleveland Botanical Garden are arranged, and this is especially true of the orchids at the Orchid Mania exhibit. I generally avoid posting photos that show how the flowers are arranged, but I do take a few for myself showing the strings, the pots, and the backgrounds because sometimes I like to see the man behind the curtain, so to speak.
The kindness of flowers

Maybe not now, but it will some day. And in kind that kindness will flow, for kindness grows in this way.

Spring here in the Bogs is slightly behind spring up in Cleveland. And today doesn’t feel like spring at all. It’s chilly (33 degrees when I went out for my walk this morning) and very breezy. There is a Freeze Warning in effect for tonight, with a low of 26 expected.

in autumn,
A cool breeze in summer, snow in winter —
If your mind is not clouded by unnecessary
things,
this is the best season of your life.~ Chinese poem
