(I do have a dragonfly photo that might qualify, but won’t be posting it today. I caught ’em in the act, so to speak.) The title refers to the weather we’re currently experiencing. It’s only about 90 degrees today. Tomorrow we’re under an excessive heat advisory. Personally, I find the heat to be excessive today. Tomorrow I’ll probably think this was cool in comparison.

Or stop. It’s time to shed ambition and expectation, along with commutes, clothing, cellular phones, calendars. Now our wants seem to diminish. Is it because our needs are met? A shady nook, a cold drink, a cool breeze — whether indoors or out. A respite from the rigors of the day. Time off for good behavior. Summer is not so much a season as a melody, that tune of contentment we hum as the days begin to beautifully blur.

I have a dreadful time with titles, and naming things. That’s especially true when it comes to my photographs. I know people who are incredibly talented in that regard. They come up with clever, witty, often succinct titles whereas I frequently want to number mine. It is doubtful (as the Magic 8 Ball would predict) I’ll ever win any “Caption This” contests.
