Today’s Capture Your 365 prompt is Lucky, and the email suggested things such as horseshoes and four-leaf clovers and whatever might be lucky for you. M and I keep all our superstitions on the barn.
Rain and slush

It’s just starting to lighten up outside. Before I could see what was going on outdoors, the local weather folks on television informed me that the icy rain part of the weather front moving through had flown east of us and the precipitation had turned to plain old rain. Fog is rising from the snow cover. It’s going to be a slushy day.

~ Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice
When I was young, and quite possibly stupid, I would become passionate in my anger during some of the arguments between M and myself. Consequently, objects (and implements) were known to suddenly take flight (and no, we did not have a poltergeist living with us). When I saw this sign while out on our walk yesterday, I laughed and laughed, thinking how fun it would be to have such a sign in my kitchen. I no longer throw things out of anger, but the occasional implement has been known to go flying out of my klutzy hands when I’m prepping food.

The wonders of winter

I love it, most especially when there is snow. Snow is necessary for a proper, enjoyable winter. I’ve lived in places where they have rainy, dreary winters, and that’s no fun at all. If gray, wet days are what you experience during the winter months, I can understand not loving the season.

I know. It’s Friday, not Thursday. But I’m off skiing this afternoon and won’t have time to post the photos from that little adventure so you’re stuck with a scheduled post and some travel photos from Nova Scotia today. In my last Thursday Travels post (Ferries and boats and lighthouses, oh my), M and I had just landed in Nova Scotia. We left Caribou, Nova Scotia, and went east on the Sunrise Trail, making our way towards Cape Breton.
