The tomatoes need to be canned. The peppers need to be frozen. Apples need to be turned into applesauce.
I had a lovely day yesterday, sitting in the Alcove, nestled under the trees, listening to the birds, the breeze, and the buzz and hum of insects. I watched the clouds drifting overhead. I picked up the book I brought with me, thought about reading, and went back to watching the clouds.
In the early evening I moved to the deck and watched the play of light in the bushes and trees.
I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Thanks for dropping by the Bogs today. I’ll have to keep this short. While I’m busy with the canning and freezing, feel free to have a seat on the deck. There’s iced tea. (Today’s iced tea is an unsweetened rooibus flavored with a little orange zest. You can always add some local honey if you like it sweet.) Wine is available for those inclined in that direction. Put your feet up, relax, and enjoy the view.
Happily we bask in this warm September sun,
Which illuminates all creatures…~ Henry David Thoreau
May you can with joyous delight. If that fails, may you can with ice tea nearby. 🙂
Thanks for the invitation!!
The iced tea sounds delicious Robin! Happy canning (in bottles, lol!!) 😀
the weather looks really nice over there, is it still warm?
It is still warm, Chloe, although the nights have gotten cooler. 🙂
I love that goldfinch shot – I can almost feel the sun.
It sounds like a perfect kind of day. And the tea looks awesome. Have fun canning.
These type of fall days are such a joy. Gotta love this streak!
So glad you got your relaxing day! It’ll be cool again today, and I’ll be pulling weeds 🙂
Beautiful view! Thank you for sharing it!
Thanks for sharing your perfect day…sounds lovely!
I love the little yellow bird and the green leafery with it’s unusual pattern of branches. 🙂
I love what you’ve done with the Great Blue Heron picture. It looks like a coloured pencil drawing. 🙂
That’s the view from your house? Sheesh… Can I come over? You don’t have to do anything more than give me a place to sit down.
lol, Rosie! Come on over anytime. There are plenty of good places to sit where you can stare at the pond, watch the branches of the trees dance in the breeze, or listen to the birds. 🙂
You’re too kind …. a pond with trees and birds? I’m on my way.
A big thank you to everyone for your comments! I’m still in the midst of canning season and haven’t been able to keep up with comments or other blogs too well. Hopefully I’ll get caught up soon. 🙂
