Too good to be inside

It is much too beautiful to be indoors today.  Sunny, clear, and near 60 degrees.  Around the time this scheduled post appears, I’ll be out hiking with a friend.  It’ll be good to get outdoors.  I had to spend most of the morning indoors at the dentist and dealing with other health-related appointments.

If you hurry, you can join us in a hike around a gorge.  We’re going to stay on high ground since things are so swampy around here.  The creeks and rivers should be back to normal levels, but the ground is soggy.

Thanks for stopping by.  I’ll be back tomorrow with more photos from Sunday’s hike or some new photos from today’s hike.  Either way, we’ll get to enjoy the great outdoors again.  🙂

Isn’t it amazing how warm some of these winter days have been, Robin? Tomorrow it is supposed to be 70 degrees! We’re going to cool off again for the weekend, but these warm days are such a welcome thing in the middle of winter. Beautiful picture.

      Thank you, Susan. 🙂

To be honest, I kind of miss the snow, but not too much. Usually my husband and I escape winter by going to Florida near the end of February, but we decided not to go this year in order to take a longer summer vacation. Winter has responded kindly by giving us plenty of sunshine. I don’t think I’ll miss Florida.

  2. The weather here is amazing, as well. Hope you enjoy your hike. See you tomorrow!
    Hugs,
    Kathy

  3. Hi Robin,
Did you and your friend have a good hike? I’m planning one later this week at Spring Bluff- can’t wait! I’ve been working on a pen and ink project to draw as many native plants as I can and am sooo excited they will soon be reappearing.
Thank you for sharing your bogs with us

      Hi Melissa. 🙂

The hike was great. I took another short hike this morning since it’s still rather nice outside.

Can’t wait to see your drawings. Looks like spring is coming early this year. (But I wouldn’t put it past winter to decide to ruin spring’s plans.)

  4. Can’t wait until it’s too good to be indoors here too… Not sure I’ll quite make your hike though.. lol.. Hope you get more great shots out there.. 🙂

Crazy weather, isn’t it? I will enjoy while I can – I guess more “seasonable” stuff is headed our way for the end of the week.

    • Robin says:

      Crazy good, Karma. 🙂

I was just looking at the forecast for the next 10 days here and it’s going to continue to be unseasonably warm. I noticed today that some of the bulbs have already sent up shoots.

I think a daily hike is the key to a fresh outlook everyday. Nature is inspiring, invigorating, and it always seems to set me in my place, gently and lovingly.

  7. Excellent!! I hope the hike went well.

I love your posts, they are a great source of inspiration to me. So much so, that I have a link to your blog on my blog roll.
It’s great to see others get out in the winter time (even though we are in the middle of summer here!)
