As long-time visitors to Life in the Bogs may or may not recall, I am a fan of the flamingo. I like all birds, but the flamingo is one of my favorites. (If one were to do a search of my blog for flamingo, one would like find a couple of posts about them.)
See how the sacred old flamingoes come,
Painting with shadow all the marble steps:
Aged and wise, they seek their wonted perches,
Within the temple, devious walking, made
To wander by their melancholy minds.~ William Butler Yeats
I’m taking the day off from blogging today. Just because. I’ll be back live and in person tomorrow. Maybe. 😀
Wow, robin I so love this flamingo. Love the composition, the color, and I do so love flamingoes, too.
How great that you are beginning to allow yourself some breaks from blogging. See you tomorrow–maybe——————

We have a whole flock in the back yard. Made by Don Featherstone. He’s the best flamingo guy, I think. Thanks for sharing and hope you’re enjoying the day!
How very beautiful! Enjoy your day off, and I’ll enjoy the flamingo. 🙂
Nice to see you taking intentional breaks from the blog– I fully support it! See you… whenever. 😉

If you look at his eye, he does look melancholy! jane
I agree, Jane. I never know if the zoo animals actually feel that way or if I’m projecting that image on them. I have such mixed feelings about zoos.
That flamingo looks majestic… 😉
