353: A walk at sunrise

I know a lot of people are blogging about 9-11 today. I’m not going to do that. I haven’t read or watched or listened to the news at all today.
Instead, I’m going to take you on an early morning walk around Breezy Acres. I’ll try not to spoil it too much with a lot of words.
It was foggy with a heavy, drippy dew covering everything. I went barefoot for part of the walk. The feel of the cool dew on my feet was soothing and refreshing at the same time. I like being in touch with the earth that way.
I walked through the meadows and down to the pond.
It was incredibly quiet. Even the birds had little to say. There was the occasional rustling in the grass and the sound of dew dripping from the trees.
Down at the pond I turned around and looked back at the house. The sun was just beginning to rise up over the trees, the light shining through the fog in long beams.
As the sun moved a little higher, things really began to sparkle and shine.
There was a garden spider sitting in the center of this web. It moved before I had a chance to capture it with the camera, hiding somewhere below until I walked away.
The sunlight on the morning dew makes pretty bokeh.
And the dew was so thick it almost resembled frost.
I went back up the hill towards the house and the sun, grateful for the early morning gift of peace and beauty.

morning mists and walks of wonder are one antidote
I didn’t either… and no TV or news either. Our town had some kind of memorial ceremony, and I know there will be something on TV tonight as well, but I’m skipping it all. I just don’t want to dwell on the past and would rather focus on happier things.
Your first picture, and the sunlight bokeh are breathtaking! I really like the boat, too. So pretty with the sun and the fog.
Love your spider webs, some of them look HUGE! Are you saving the spookiest ones for Halloween? 😉

I think the best way to pay a tribute to 9/11 is to show the Worlds beauty, Robin, and you have certainly fulfilled that brief. We have so much to be thankful for and to appreciate, 9/11 symbolises this for me, live your life and experience everything you can, for you never know what’s in your future. … We have many spiders webs in our garden, I think we’ve become a spider haven. The largest one was by the back door I do feel the spider in question was considering me as an addition to his larder…. But little did he know I have super powers and broke his fine webbing!! Just gorgeous!! The bokeh on the dew makes it look like jewels! One of these days, I am going to have to get up early enough for some morning shots – that, and find a good place to go walking!

I use a free program called Picasa to organize my photos. It has a thing you can use to put text and/or a copyright on the photos. All I have to do is click a box to include the watermark.

Wow, Robin, all these images are lovely! You’ve been doing some great magic with the camera. I love the ones with the cobwebs (wish we had cobwebs like those where I live, even though spiders really scare me), and the fourth one from the bottom, with such amazing bokeh, just takes my breath away.
