~ Chuang Tzu
This photo was taken at the Cleveland Botanical Garden during their Orchid Mania exhibit. I still have quite a few photos from that exhibit that I haven’t yet posted on the blog. They will come in handy on busy days (such as today) when I need to put up a quick post.
I’m not sure what caused it to come out this way. I think it was camera shake, giving it the soft, blurry effect. It makes it seem like you can almost see through the orchid to the far right.
Today’s Outdoor Adventures
Nothing much to report. It has been raining off and on throughout the day. I poked my nose outside in between the rain showers, mostly accomplishing a few chores out there and checking up on the birds. I did not take the camera outside with me today. We needed a break from each other.
I absolutely love this photograph. I love the colors and the sudden activity from the butterfly.
Thank you, Babygirl. And thank you so much for stopping by and commenting. 🙂
The first time I read that quote I couldn’t get over it. Man…butterfly? Butterfly…man? I wrote it down and read it over and over. In fact, I still can’t get over it, and it’s been several years.
It’s an amazing quote, isn’t it Bo? I used it a long time ago over at Bountiful Healing and it’s one of those that just keeps coming back and opening my mind.
I actually like the blur on the first photo with the butterfly, it gives the photo a soft feeling. Sometimes those ‘mistakes’ are winners.
We all need breaks from the camera and time to just enjoy nature with our mind’s eye.
Thanks, Martina. 🙂
I agree, I really like this effect, too.
Can’t wait to see more orchids!
Thanks, Michaela.
More coming this way soon. 🙂
Gosh, Robin, the butterfly quote is amazing! Sounds like you’re having a busy day! See you tomorrow————
Kathy
Thank you, Kathy. 🙂
I like the butterfly, particularly the colors on its wings. I think I’ve read that quote before… yeah, I remember now, it was on a tale by Borges. Which I want to reread now.
Thanks, SunsetSeaSoul. 🙂
Beautiful photo! I love that you’re not quite sure what created the effect…it’s brilliant. 😉
Thank you, SurburbanMisfit. 🙂
It would be nice to be able to recreate it. I’ll just have to keep practicing, see if I can figure it out.
This is heavenly! Just gorgeous.
Thank you, LadyFi. 🙂
I love flutter-bys, so delicate and beautiful and the softness of the photo is fantastic Robin, no matter how you got it…You’ll have to ‘shake’ more often… 🙂 xPenx
Thank you, Pen. 🙂
Not too much shaking, though… might rattle my brain. lol!
Exquisite butterfly, orchid, and photograph…
Thank you, Barbara. 🙂
