Look Up: MetLife Blimp

M and I seem to spot a blimp or two wherever we go and our trip to Florida was no exception.  We saw the MetLife Blimp from the beach one morning while we were out for a walk.  I’m not sure if this is Snoopy One or Snoopy Two, but judging by the blimp’s schedule (which doesn’t go as far back as when this photo was taken) as well as the information on the MetLife website, I’m going to deduce it was Snoopy One.  Snoopy Two spends the winter months in the west, touring California, Nevada, and Arizona.

We may get the opportunity to see it again as it will be flying over Ohio May 27 through June 6.  I’m not sure if we’ll be in that area of Ohio at the time but it’s entirely possible since it is close to where our oldest son and his family live.  And if we miss it, no big deal since we live near the Goodyear’s Wingfoot Lake Airship facility and frequently see the Goodyear Blimp in our local skies.

In other news…

Today is the 40th anniversary of the Kent State University May 4th shootings.  If you’re unfamiliar with what happened, you can read about it here, listen to the song about it here, or watch the video (without music as the audio was pulled) here.

Garden notes: Harvested a dozen asparagus spears yesterday and expect to be harvesting more today.  The lettuces and spinach are sprouting.

is it just me, or is that a rather strange slogan to put on a blimp?
well i giggled over my cornflakes this morning 🙂

Kelhan: Perhaps it makes more sense if you know it’s an insurance company. Then again, it is kind of silly and giggling is always a good thing. 🙂

Love to see blimps. what a great “look up” photo.

    • Robin says:

Thanks, Bo. I do too, although I think I’ve come to take our local blimp for granted and usually don’t bother to grab the camera and take a picture anymore.
