Greetings from NJ

We are traveling once again.  We left home on Friday and have been in New Jersey visiting with family and friends.  I haven’t had much time to post and this quickie may well be it until we’re home again.

The Weiner Mobile pictured above  has been parked in the hotel parking lot next door to where we have been staying for the past 3 days.  I’m not sure what its mission is here in New Jersey.  We haven’t seen anyone in it.

It’s been a good visit so far.  We had a blast on Sunday at the Jersey shore with my brother and his wife.  I find it interesting that I spent a week in Florida without getting sunburn, but five hours at the Jersey shore fried me even with a liberal sunscreen application.  It might be wind-burn as well.  It was a little breezy that day.

Yesterday I went to see Mom’s grave.  The funeral (back in September) was conducted at the cemetery chapel and not at the grave site so this was the first time I’ve been there.  It’s still marked with a temporary marker, waiting for the stone.

Today we’re going back to Sabbaticalville for a few hours to visit with some friends and then we’re going to Philadelphia.  M has a meeting there tomorrow.  I will probably spend the day walking around and taking photos.  Or sleeping.  I haven’t slept well the past few nights.  We’ll be meeting a friend for dinner in the evening.

Thursday we’re heading further west into Pennsylvania to visit with M’s family for a few days.  We’re hoping to get to Hershey Gardens on one of those days.  One of the most noticeable differences between the Bogs and this part of the world is that everything is much greener than it was at home.  The trees all have leaves.  The crabapple, redbud, and dogwood trees are blooming.  There should be plenty of color at Hershey Gardens.
