Setting sun

(191:  The sun is setting on NaBloPoMo 2009.)

Last day of NaBloPoMo!  Yay!  I wish I had had more time to explore through the randomizer and meet more bloggers, but at least I met a few and here are two I’ve been enjoying and plan to keep visiting:

  • Kala at A matter of how you see it displays her beautiful photography.  She is currently doing a series of photos that look like paintings.  Gorgeous stuff!
  • I also met Kristin at The Goat.  She posts a little bit of everything including a POTD (Picture of The Day).

The plan was to take a break for a few days but now that I’m here, at the end, I don’t know.  Maybe I’ll keep going for a while, at least with the 365 photo challenge.

In other news…

I am usually a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas.  There are a number of reasons for that which I won’t get into as I decided to try to keep the blog politics- and religion-free.  All politics and religion aside, I have never been the kind of woman who gets all excited about holiday decorations.  I do enjoy design and regular old, everyday, decorating, but putting the Santa suit on the cement goose was never my thing.  Do you remember those geese?  Maybe it was a West Virginia – Southern Ohio phenomenon. It seemed like most houses had a fake goose on the porch or somewhere out front for all to see, and someone was making a few bucks selling clothing for the fake geese, usually holiday stuff but one house I used to pass on my daily walk had everyday clothing and hats for their goose (a bright yellow raincoat and rain hat for rainy days, a bathing suit for summer days, etc.).

(NO, I do not have a cement goose.  Or a Santa suit.)

This year I’ve decided to try something different and embrace the holidaze.  Towards that end, I will be cleaning and organizing the house this week so I’ll be ready to put up decorations next week after the insulation guys finish adding insulation to the attic so we can be warmer and more energy efficient.  That will happen on the 9th.  I’ll be free and clear after that to decorate to my heart’s delight.

🙄

Towards that end, I may pull out a few of the old snow shots and decorate the blog while I’m at it.  I promise not to overdo it.  But if WordPress brings back the snow, I will let it snow in here.
