(It really takes a lot of people… )

(Going up.)

(And up.)

(082:  Three degrees of inflation.)

Switching gears here for a bit, after the break…

Last night M and I attended another of the Enshrinement festivities:  The Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival Drum Corps Competition.  M, as regular readers know by now, likes that sort of thing.  He’s a drummer.  Of course he would.

It was fun and, as always, entertaining.  The competition (as you can see from above) is fierce.

You may be wondering, “What’s up with all the pics of the color guard?  Why no drums or bugles?”  The color guard tended to hang out closest to where we were seated.  And I haven’t yet gone through all the photos so I have no idea if I managed to catch some good shots of the drummers or brass players.

If you’re interested in this sort of thing, the scores can be found at the DCI website here.  The local corps (the Bluecoats from Canton) won first place.   They were pretty awesome.

Okay, now we’re getting somewhere, the balloons are showing us their colors (and the color guard is pretty cool too!)

Ah neat with the balloons! And the enshrinement photos… ‘Fierce’ looks like an Amazon woman who can clean your clock, and ‘Not Quite as Fierce’ looks like she could suck your blood if she could sneak up on you. What’s with ‘On the field’? Amazon woman cleaned some clocks? Great photos and I bet that was fun watching the balloons all the way to the Enshrinement festivities. 🙂

      Thank you, Anna. 🙂

The Enshrinement festivities will be going on all week. I’m not much of a football fan (well, really, not at all) but I do enjoy the festivities. The actual Enshrinement is on Sunday, I think, and then life goes back to normal for the city of Canton.

Perhaps I should rename “Not Quite as Fierce” to “Not Quite as Fierce But Scary.” lol! The fierce look seemed to be a trend with the drum corps we saw last night. “Not Quite as Fierce” was part of the drum corp whose 2009 theme is Forbidden so I think she’s supposed to look seductive and forbidden. Or something like that.

And a LOL! at your remark about “On the field.” That was my thought when I arranged the photos for the blog, but the real reason is that lying on the field also seemed to be a trend with some of the drum corps we saw last night. It made sense in some instances. I’m not sure what it meant in that particular case other than as being forbidden and seductive. Or something like that.
