I’m not dead yet, but…

My computer seems to be. Dead as doornail, as Dickens once said.

I’ll be able to post from the laptop, but don’t have access to my photos.  That’s one way to force me back into writing my posts instead of using pictures to tell the story.

Hopefully we’ll get things figured out soon.  In the meantime, I’ll try to keep up as best I can.  Things are little slower on the laptop.  However, it’s better than no computer at all.  I’m very thankful that I got into the habit of backing up my stuff frequently.  I suspect we’re going to have to do a reinstall (if we can get the CD drive working).

M and I worked hard yesterday, getting the shrubs moved.  We also re-raised one of our standing stones.  It fell shortly after we put it up a few years ago, and we’ve had no means of putting it back up since M sold his truck before going on sabbatical.  It’s a big, heavy barn stone with a hole in the center.  I’ll take a photo of it sometime soon and post it as soon as my computer is restored.

I’ve been out in the garden today, doing the weeding that I should have done before winter settled in last year.  I ran out of time, trying to replace the food we lost during the power outage  It’s a good lesson.  I should have made the time to do the weeding because things sure are a mess out there now.

The good news is that there are new asparagus spears shooting up out of the ground.  According to one website (Ohio State University extension service), we can go ahead and cut a few this year.  I’m looking forward to tasting freshly picked asparagus that I grew myself.
