Stormy night

(Sunlight on the pond. January 2008)

We had some wild storms move through last night. The wind was the worst of it, making enough noise to wake the dead. There were a few moments when I thought for sure the wind was going to pick up the entire house and carry us off. When I checked the news, we were having sustained winds of 25-30 mph, with wind gusts up to 50 mph. Mother Nature, trying to blow the house down.

I had lunch with M today and he mentioned that a lot of people went into work early this morning (including himself). Apparently we weren’t the only folks kept awake since 3:00am by the blustery winds.

By noon the skies had cleared, the sun was shining, and except for a few things out of place, you’d never know such ferocious winds and rain had come through. It’s still windy, but not nearly as noisy.

Looks like the ninth month will be blustery with some rain and lots of sunshine. With cooler temperatures, too.

I’m going to have to go in search of a meme or two.  I really have nothing much to write about these days.

I suppose that’s a good thing.  🙂
