Winter is coming

It’s been chilly here. Ice is starting to form on the pond:

And NaBloPoMo is over!! Let’s all celebrate.

I think I’ll celebrate by taking a few days off from blogging. Perhaps more than a few days as I have some serious reading to do if I expect to meet my 50 Books Challenge this year. So far I’ve only read 31 books.

I have a feeling I won’t make it to 50. It would take a serious marathon for me to read 19 books in one month. This is a particularly bad month for catching up on things like that, what with the Holidaze almost upon us.

I did, as mentioned at my other blog, meet another goal I set for this year. Every year I challenge myself to a certain amount of mileage. This year my goal was 850 miles. I hit and passed my walking goal last week.

I’m shooting for 900 miles in 2008. I’d better buy myself a new pair of walking shoes for my birthday. I’m going to need them.

Do you have one of those thingy’s that track how far you have walked or do you go by guess or by golly … if you do have one of those thingy’s where did you get it… might be fun to join you on the walking challenge.

You changed your theme here, I like it… funny thing about that… I changed my theme on my second blog as well… before I knew you changed your’s… Im thinking you are living in my head 🙂

I love these photo’s – expecially the ice crystal one!

btw – some blogs are like books, can’t they count towards your yearly total?

  3. Robin says:

Truddle: Yep, I have one of those thingy’s (pedometer). I do some of my walking on a treadmill, too, which measures it.

Pedometers are pretty easy to find these days. Any sports store will have them. Or any store with a sports department and exercise equipment. Or you can order one online.

I used to have one that talks, but it wore out so I have a plain old digital pedometer.

Changing themes — another one to add to “the list.” 🙂

You may be right about some blogs being like books. lol! Perhaps I should count them towards my total.

TPGoddess: Oh, I don’t know. I have enough trouble setting my own goals. Better let ya’all pick your own. 🙂

Kel: Thanks. 🙂 I sometimes forget that your seasons are the opposite of ours. Enjoy your summer.
