(High & Gay in the rain. Photo by Robin. May 2007)
Much needed rain has come to Sabbaticalville. It even brought a bit of lightning and thunder.
There’s nothing like a good storm to clear the air.
It cleared the neighborhood, too. Commencement, as it turns out, was today (not tomorrow as I thought). The town was hopping before the storm hit. It may still be hopping for all I know, but they moved it indoors.
M and I wound up at Longwood Gardens again for our afternoon walk. The change in just one week’s time is amazing. I have the photos to prove it. I’ll be back tomorrow with said proof.
I think it’s hotter in the apartment than it is outside. I can’t be sure of that because I haven’t been outside yet. I’ll be heading out in a little while. M and I are going to go for a hike or a walk or something later this afternoon.
I had a rant on my mind, but have decided to save it for another day. Or let it fade away, as rants are wont to do. It was about hurt feelings due to high expectations.
Perhaps life would be easier if I lowered those expectations. Or at least take a Zen approach and learn to accept things as they are, without judgment.
In the meantime, since I have nothing of interest to write about at the moment, I’ll leave you with a few more shots from Longwood Gardens.
(Sunlight shining through a copper beech.)
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a copper beech before. Or if I have, I didn’t know that’s what it was. I really like them. M likes them too. We’re going to a nursery tomorrow to look at copper beeches (see how much they cost, how hard they are to grow, etc.).
Another glimpse of the copper beeches:
My favorite flower (and scent):
Enjoy your weekend!
And an early Happy Mother’s Day to all you moms out there. 🙂
