Another new visitor

I’m excited this morning. The sun is shining (can’t remember the last time that happened!), the clouds are breaking up, and it’s above freezing.

But that’s not why I’m excited.

We have a new visitor to the pond. An egret. It’s our very first egret.

Look at the duck: Bottom up.

We have quite a variety of birds this year. Ring-necked ducks, mallards, a duck we’ve been unable to identify, a gull, a kingfisher, a great blue heron, and now an egret. The pond is quite a lively place these days, snow or no snow.

Today’s weather shot:

Look! Blue sky! Green grass! Just a smattering of snow here and there.

It’s hard to get too excited about the weather, though.  There’s snow in the forecast for late tonight.
