We’re back in the Bogs where the weather is gorgeous at the moment — the weather is so changeable around here that we’ll be going from near the 70’s today to snow by Thursday and Friday. But right now, oh right now, the sky is clear, the sun is shining, and there’s a lovely warm and gusty wind creating ripples on the pond.
It’s great to be home.
As part of entertaining M the Younger, we went to the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Saturday to solve a murder mystery hosted by Watson Adventures. Our team consisted of the M&M’s, me, M the Elder’s sister, and two of her friends. We had a great time, searching all over the museum for answers to the questions which led us to the clues we needed to solve the mystery. It also gave us a chance to get a good overview of the museum. Unfortunately, it didn’t give us much time to admire the art other than the paintings, sculptures, etc. that were part of the clues. Our team, called the Amish Avengers, came in 3rd place. Not bad for our first murder mystery. We might have done better if I hadn’t rushed through writing in the motive. I was a little too specific when they were looking for basics such as greed, lust, etc.
M the Elder and I plan to go back to the museum sometime soon after we go back to Sabbaticalville. We also want to pay another visit to Bridgid’s restaurant, where we had dinner on Saturday. It’s not far from the museum. They have a great selection of beers and the food was wonderful. I had the filet mignon, modestly priced at $18, which came with brown rice, steamed veggies, and a lovely salad of mixed greens. The filet was perfectly cooked and so tender that it just melted in my mouth.
We drove home to the Bogs yesterday. It was the usual 7 hour trip. Too long, if you ask me. Not good for the old back. Thankfully it was a pretty uneventful drive. We hit a little rain here and there, as well as a downpour somewhere in western Pennsylvania. The weather was clear and beautiful when we reached home.
And now, I’m getting off this computer so I can get busy with the spring cleaning. M the Younger has done an okay job of keeping the place clean, but it’s not up to my standards. In all fairness to him, I didn’t leave it very clean to begin with due to the back pain I was in at the time. This place needs a thorough scrubbing and cleansing. Thorough! When I’ve had enough of that for today, I’m going to go outside and enjoy this lovely weather by taking a leisurely walk around the pond.
It’s great to be home. 🙂
