The snow is another photo from the Bogs and from last winter. I debated with myself over whether to use the snow or this:
There’s more white in the snow photo, but it doesn’t seem quite as white as the flower. There’s also the contrast between winter and the tropical hot house conditions in which the flower lives. The flower photo was taken at the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco.
All this use of memes and themes can only mean one thing: I don’t have much to write about these days. M and I are beginning to fall into a routine here in Sabbaticalville and life is going about its normal business for the time being.
The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life’s plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life. ~Robert Louis Stevenson
